The judge in this case should be ashamed of himself! He let her go free to possibly hurt another child! Please remember that she may not have justice here on earth, but she will have to answer for this in the end! I pray to God that no one ever leaves their child in her care again! You all are in my prayers.

I am glad to see and hear that little Kendra is doing well. I have two daughters one 7 and the other 3. I also feel your need for justice and better laws to protect all children. I understand the direct violation to your childs safety and wish all of you the best in the future. Yall we be in my thoughts and prayers for the long road ahead. I and i pray the the new judge will do the right act and remove the probation and give way to a proper sentence.

I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you! As a mother and a daycare provider myself it is outrageous that anyone would dare strike a child! I could go on and on about how angry this makes me; however, I just wanted to voice my support for your family and daughter. May the future bring happiness and healing as well as the changes in the lega and licensing requirements.

May God be with you in this situation. I have a 7 year old daughter who means the world to me and if anything like this had happened to her I would fight for the person to be punished. You have a beautiful little girl and I am praying for her full recovery. God Bless you.

I read this story at "military.com" and just could not believe it. I was in tears by the time i finished. I have a 2 year old girl and a 4 year old boy, and I just cannot even imagin what yall are going through. My prayes are with you and your family. I know this situation would not be allowed to happen in my state. Louisiana has harsh laws on this type of crime, and I commend Gov. Jindal for that. I have, sent my state reps. e-mails with this story attached in hope that I can do my part to keep this from EVER happening again. Darren (prior military) Alexandria, Louisiana

I can't imagine what the judge was thinking or how you can keep from imposing serious bodily harm on the piece of moistness who calls herself a human being, much less a woman. God Bless Your Family and Kendra.

I am so sorry this happend to your adorable baby girl. The daycare provider most certainly should get jail time. It is outrageous that she got away with this. I read about your story on Military.com. I am the widow of a Veteran. My prayers are with your family.

What else can be said that already hasn't been said. I can not understand why the judge only gave probation for this. I pray that all works out for your daughter. I had a head injury as child that was life threatening, so things do look promising.

I read Kendra's story on Military.com. What really burns me up is that the daycare worker basically got away with her crime. Anyone who abuses a child in any way, be it sexual abuse or bodily harm, should do time in prison. That way they have time to think about what they did and why they are in prison. This woman will go about her daily life and have her weekly or monthly meetings with her probation officer and it won't mean a thing to her. I do hope that the judge in this case does reconsider and give this woman some jail time. A slap on the wrist is not fit this crime!

May God Bless your family and continue to give you the strength for all you do for all the children out there now as well as in the future to help protect our future(children) of America. As veterans and grandparents, we fully understand the unconditional love that children bring. This said, we feel that it is all of us adults right to stick up for ALL the children of the world. May God continue to bless Kendra in miraculous ways.

I just want to say that its great to hear that Kendra is doing well. I have a 20 month old son and when i read your families story the first thing that came to my mind would put me in jail....so i would like to give you credit as parents for being able to keep your bearing (so to speak) and make a bigger difference for future cases. And as a parent would like to say thank you for the effort and work being put into kendra's act and hope the bill passes.

I saw your story in an e-mail from military.com. I would like you to know that I will be praying daily for your family and that the lawmakers that be would come to there senses. My story is a little different but the fact remains that children need better protection. I hope things work out not only in court but more important with your beautiful daughters recovery. God bless and thank you for strong people like yourselves, Matt

I had a situation with my son in 1997 when he was 3 months old of the home day care dosing him with Tylenol (that I had not authorized the use of and that he was not in need of). I reported this to the Texas Department of Child Protective Services and within six months they were put out of business. I know that is nothing like what your family and Kendra are going through, but something has got to be done NOW. Two years (in MY opinion) is not enough. Depending on the severity of the brutality, at least five years should be handed down and never again be permitted to care for children, and have to register (like sex offenders) so they are not able to work with any children under the age of 11 years old. It just burns me that she only got probation. Your family is in my prayers and I hope Kendra continues to improve and stay healthy. Carry on and the best of luck getting the Bill to pass.

I'm so sorry. This should defiantly be a jail sentence. It's just insane that someone would do this to a child!!! That just makes me angry. Defiantly keep up the fight and i'll be wishing the best of luck to the family and to the fight. God bless
