My heart goes out to your family. I read your story on military.com and I was outraged. I think the laws should be changed. She should be put in jail and never allowed to care for any children ever. Probabtion for almost killing a child is not punishment. Your daughter is beautiful and I support you in your cause.......

Thank you for sharing your story and for daring to reach out and do something that others haven't done. I have 2 boys, one 4 and the other nearly 2. I am fortunate enough to stay home with them. Tears streamed down my face reading Kendra's story, not only because of the abuse she suffered but because of the abuse so many others suffer as well. Our children are our greatest treasures and my family is behind you 100%. Press forward and you will prevail.

I am enraged at this story! I agree with what Sgt Hawkins said - this is a criminal act and should be treated as such. If this had happened to an adult the sentencing for this woman would have been years in prison. I am going to contact my state represenatives, and pass along your story , perhaps with the help of people who read this -we can make change. On a more personal note - if this happened to my grandbabies- I'd want her head on a platter!

I read your story in Military.com. Thank you so much for all you do and advocating for other children and families. Kendra is blessed to have a family such as yours. Keep up the good work.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Kendra, you and your husband. If you need names for a petition please send me an e-mail and I will start in Pa. and take it as far and wide as I can. I support everything you are doing and justice should prevail for Kendra. God bless.

Senseless, deliberate acts like what happened to Kendra are appalling, and conviction of such a crime should result in a commensurate level of punishment. I too agree that probation only is not sufficient. We need to protect our children, and I believe the Courts need to raise the bar when it comes to awarding sentences in connection with any crime against a defenseless child. Thank you for your efforts in getting this legislation passed, and best wishes to you and Kendra as she works toward recovery. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I can not express how sorry I am that this happen to Kendra. I have forward information to Gov. Jindal of Louisiana. I have a 1 year old granddaughter and can't imagine what i would do or how i would act if something like this happened to her. Thank you for standing up, not only for Kendra, but for everyother child out there. I will keep your family in my prayers.

I read your story in the military.com newsletter. I am the father of four and grandfather of seven. We must do all in our power to protect the most precious gift of all, a child. I'll be checking the laws in Oklahoma and support your efforts.

Your story has brought tears to my eyes. Being a mother of 2 girls (6 yrs & 5 mo) anytime I hear such tragic stories it tears me up inside. When I look at my girls, I just want to hug them and cherish my time spent with them. How can anyone harm a defenseless baby??? I am at a loss. I can not imagine being put through what your family has been through and I wish you all the luck in receiving the justice you so deserve. I can't believe child abusers are getting away with no jail time. It absolutely sickens me. You have a beautiful family. Words cannot express my sorrow, but I fully support and back your cause. This "injustice" system needs to be fixed. From one soldiers family to another, God Bless.

I have read your story and I must say that as a father of two girls myself (4 & 2), I am amazed that this person did get a tougher sentence. The Daycare Operator showed malice, intent, and deception. I am appauled at the judge. You have my sympathy and GOD BLESS your family.

I am Active Duty currently in Iraq. I have 2 Daughters. One is 10 the other is 2. My oldest attends SAS on post and my other goes to FCC (Home Day Care). I know that it means to trust someone with the care of ones children. I hope that everything you are doing works out and that your little girl can have a full and meaning full life. I will be praying for your family. I hope that the Bills gets passed. There are somethings in the world that should never happen and if they do, then punishment should be swift and severe. God bless your family. -Kenny

My heart goes out to you. You are incredible for making this your mission, despite your pain. It could be any one of us in your shoes. Thank you for educating people about the risk.

I read your story in an email from Military.com. I have three daughters aged 9,6, and 2. I can't imagine the difficulty in dealing with such a situation, but the way you are handling it sets the example for everyone. I will forward this on to my entire address book. I am praying for Kendra and your family.

I'm in full support of this bill and I have nothing nut good hopes the your daughter make a full recovery. Jail time should be served if not worse for hurting any child and especially one as beautiful as your daughter
